More appropriate would be

<math><mn>VII</mn><mo>+</mo><mn>V</mn><mo>=</mo><mn>XII</mn></math>

Both produce incorrect (but different) Nemeth

mtext:     "⠠⠧⠠⠊⠠⠊⠬⠠⠧⠨⠅⠠⠭⠠⠊⠠⠊"
mn:        "⠠⠧⠠⠊⠠⠊⠬⠠⠧⠀⠨⠅⠀⠠⠭⠠⠊⠠⠊"
Should be: "⠠⠠⠧⠊⠊⠬⠠⠧⠀⠨⠅⠀⠠⠠⠭⠊⠊"

Should use "⠠⠠" for capitalization indicator for VII and XII
