Icon breaks the GNOME 3.18 desktop's dock

the icon does not show in the dock and somehow creates issues with the other icons. For example: if I have both Encryptr and Chrome open at the same time, when I close Chrome the icon won't disappear until I reboot the computer. I am not running any extentions like "dash to dock" though.
