Prevent keyboard app to remember typed password

On the android app, when I create a new password item, my keyboard app "remembers" whatever I typed in the password field. Is it up to the Encryptr app to prevent this learning?
Using Android 6.0.1 with "Xperia keyboard". Encryptr v 2.0.0.
