Linux error: Running without the SUID sandbox

Encryptr no longer launches for me in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Selecting it from the menu of applications does nothing. I also get this error at the command line when trying to start it from my console:

Somehow, the issue automatically resolved itself. I am able to launch Encryptr from the applications menu. I'm unfortunately not able to provide additional details around how it started working again.
