Mention on-prem data centers and gateway hubs as part of the device edge

In our definition of Device Edge we don't do a great job of including edge data centers that are on that side of the last mile. This is an important aspect of the device edge and should be explicitly included.
Reviewing.
I am concerned about making the strong definitions of infrastructure edge and device edge unclear. What if we created a category of device that is at the device edge, but which aggregates and may store or process an amount of data as well? A gateway could be a small example, with an edge data centre being a larger example. Device edge aggregator?
you're overthinking it. I suggest something like:
Edge computing capabilities on the device or user side of the last mile network. Often depends on a gateway, on-premises data center or similar mechanism device in the field to collect and process data from devices. May also use limited spare compute and data storage capability from user devices such as smartphones, laptops and sensors to process edge computing workloads. Distinct from infrastructure edge as it is on the device side of the last mile network and often consists of customer-owned equipment. uses device resources.
Ok, that works and I like differentiating based on ownership.
