So a pretty all encompassing bug that doesn't allow us to make each plot a sub plot in a larger figure. This will likely be a large job and require a re-write on how we deal with axes, but will also hopefully deal with some axes issues too. Includes extra flexibility using cartopy projections.
Please feel free to comment any times you have noticed this happen, or any ideas or examples to refactor the projections module.

- Minor - typo, incorrect naming, fails on specific uncommon situation
- Major - misrepresentation of data, failure in a common situation
- Urgent - failure in usage, large misrepresentation
