String Manipulation does not work with Idea X Column Mode

I'm currently testing Idea X. There exists a new 'Column Mode' to insert text
column-wise.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Switch on Column Mode
2. Select two or more lines of text
3. Do some String Manipulation like 'Escape Java'
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
All lines of text are removed except the first one.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
