java-plugin does not work

If you have a webpage rendering issue (aka bug in QtWebKit) it should be filed
on
bugs.webkit.org. If you are unsure you can file it here and we will let you
know.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

I installed the latest java plugin (6-12), but, for example, at:

http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp?detect=jre&try=1

java is not detected. The plugin itself seems to be functioning correctly,
because java is
detected correctly when I go to the same site using Firefox.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I assumed that with Flash working, all other netscape plug-ins would work too

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I am using arora from debian experimental:

Package: arora
Version: 0.5-10
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.6-6~), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1), libqt4-network (>= 4.5.0),
libqt4-webkit
(>= 4.5.0), libqtcore4 (>= 4.5.0), libqtgui4 (>= 4.5.0), libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1)

This is a missing feature in QtWebkit and should be filed on bugs.webkit.org
