White-tailed Deer + variants

Variants include:

  • White-tailed Deer (Male & female)
  • Baby White-tailed Deer (Male & female?)

Characteristics:

  • Adults drop Raw Venison (can be smelted for Cooked Venison)
  • Can be bred with... plants? (maybe we could add Nuts or Acorns as an item instead, which could drop from Squirrels?)
  • Gets 'spooked' if you get too close, just like Ocelot
  • Should be faster than a player's normal sprint speed
  • Should make sounds when idle, attacked, dies, etc. And for the idle/ambient sound category, let's go for the least annoying sounds as possible.
  • (Optional) If you look directly at a deer and it makes eye contact with you, it stays still for a while, maybe until you move, or another entity approaches it.

Recipe:

  • Venison Stew, made from venison (raw or cooked) and potatos and carrots. Same food value as cooked venison, but perhaps gives a short-term buff like Regeneration I for 10 seconds.

You already get Regen when you get full hunger from it, so it would need another effect

I know it's tempting to add extra stuff (because we can 😃 ), but I think it's fine to not have any extra effects.

Should I create a separate issue for the Venison Stew?

I think the idea it is fine here, and I think an effect would make it viable. Vanilla Stews dont get attention because they only have a stack size of one (and we should adapt that)
