It's also happening in this profile, so it's probably not a mod compat issue.
just with my shaders' rainbow outline it's more obvious

- I can't find a server without cross-version plugins at the moment, there's a chance that they're the ones causing the issue

That's very strange, because everything works as expected for me, even on servers with cross-version plugins. Is there anything else the servers you used have in common?
EDIT: nevermind I wasn't testing properly, I will look into this issue

Ah I know what the issue is. On non-fabric or non-forge servers, the #chests tags don't exist.
