1080p not working

Official Instance
- The bug is reproducible on the official hosted instance, or is API-related.
Describe the bug
1080p isn't working on any instance, including the official one. Resolutions lower than it are working fine on all instances. The browser console isn't showing any errors, and the network tab shows around 1/2 MB worth of media fetches.
There is no shaka player error either. The video simply doesn't play. It just sits at the thumbnail.
It's been a few days since this bug appeared.
To Reproduce
Play any video at 1080p.
Expected behavior
For it to play like normal.
Logs/Errors

Browser, and OS with Version.
Firefox 128, W10.
Additional context
No response
Quite strange. My default resolution is set to 1080p. But manually selecting 1080p again from the resolution selector causes the video to load normally.

same, but for anything above 360p. also, for anything above 360p, the resolution selector shows auto
instead of the default quality in preferences
actually, it's the same as #3715
Update: the problem is occurring specifically on piped.video, whichever instance is selected. Things are working normally on watch.leptons.xyz. The resolution selector shows 1080p as the resolution, instead of Auto.
Now I'm getting the same behaviour as #3715. Earlier selecting different resolutions (720p and lower) for default quality was working. Closing until it's clear there's a consistent difference in behaviour.
