https://github.com/gsra99/mkstage4 varrient as well.

ie live cd > /mnt/gentoo/home/custom-livecd (Pentoo)

so far getting the live cd backed up for making chroot , and customizing has be a pain....

Doesn't this work already?

$ mkstage4.sh -t /path/to/live/cd /mnt/backup/live-cd

If you are booted into the live environment you would use the script like normal.

$ mkstage4.sh -s /mnt/backup/live-cd

Ok I'll give it a run , was trying to dump live in slices and single tarball for docker , and or lxc , vagrant. Tarballs for these uses a plus. Pentoo is good but testing can be a biter... if something breaks...
