Opening this issue to start the discussion, I understand it may be out of scope.
It would be nice to have a piece of software like this for MacOS. Any thoughts on how difficult the port would be? It looks like libusb is packaged for mac in homebrew (https://formulae.brew.sh/formula/libusb)
