Caption title for images in the popup

Hi, thanks for your nice theme!

I wonder if it would be possible include the captions in the pop-up figures. I have looked into the source code of the jquery.magnific-popup.js and found out that it provides for filling up the titles in the mfp-bottom-bar of the figure caption, specifically in the mfp-title class (mfp-counter on the same level is used for the numbering of the pictures already.

However, I'm new to frontend development and am not sure, how the source handling works and what is needed to change to make it work.
