Bluetooth audio routing broken on Xiaomi A3 (laurel_sprout)

I have not found this or a very similar issue already reported in this repo.
Current Behavior:
On my Xiaomi A3 (laurel_sprout) audio is not being routed through the bluetooth connection.
Describe the bug
Pairing works, as far as i know the connection works good, but there is no sound received at the other end no matter how i set the audio or bluetooth fix settings in the Treble settings app or the bluetooth device profile (speaker/car/etc.). Also the receiver does not indicate data transfer with its connection activity LED, hence i am fairly sure there is no data being sent over.
To Reproduce
- Turn on the bluetooth radio
- Pair with the selected device
- Start audio player (with audio output set to the bluetooth device)
- Hear nothing
Expected behavior
Hear music from the connected bluetooth device
Smartphone (please complete the following information):
- Device: Xiaomi A3 (laurel_sprout)
- Build Flavor: system-td-arm64-ab-vanilla.img.xz
- Version: ci-20231208 android_14.0.0_r17
