What makes FP so hard to read

Mainly it's compactness. Not necessarily part of the language, but often preferred. You should really watch out for this when making libraries though so that things don't become unreadable because you decided that obviously everyone knows what n, m, a, b, i and c means and they don't need to be longer ;)
