I have a couple suggestions/requests if it's not too much trouble (I'd try myself, but my coding skills are sub-amateur), totally get it if these ideas don't jive with your vision. Your efforts are very much appreciated!

Request

  • Would it be possible to hide the HiddenRoms folder when you switch to the "Simple (no settings)" UI mode? Or just have a toggle under tools to remove it entirely? It'd be nice as a parent to be able to keep the hidden folder inaccessible to the kids when I hand off my Miyoo to keep them off my various copies of DOOM.

UI Suggestions

  • I have a suggestion to clean up the abbreviated functions in the bottom left corner (SLP, RSM, FAV).

  • On the main screen: spell out the whole SLEEP wording, just to make it cleaner to read?
    (PWR) SLEEP
    (PWR) OFF

  • On a game that has a save state, spell out resume, and to save space, instead of FAV for favorite, use a heart or a star instead?
    (X) RESUME (START) ♥
    (X) RESUME (START) ★

  • On a game list while highlighting a game that doesn't have a save state, use the heart for favorite to make room for non-abbreviated wording?
    (PWR) SLEEP (START) ♥
    (PWR) OFF (START) ★

  • Or just don't show the power option in that space and just show the option to favorite?

I like your suggestions @capeman29 but one more thing to add

In the In-game menu remove (Y) BOXART option when simple (no Setting) or standard mode is selected

Ideally i would like PWR to renamed back to POWER looks way more appealing in my eyes anyway. There's def room for this

The latest release (20250601) hides HiddenRoms by default, to edit the list You can open the HiddenRoms.txt under .userdata or create a file named .userdata/shared/enable-show-hidden-folder to show the item.
