In ep. 02, the Reference-style links callout, Carpentries isn't eating its own dogfood.
need to add links under 'markdown flavors'

does the alpha lesson have those entries in its links.md?

I pasted in the links from the alpha lesson. that doesn't help.
Links are definitely there, but not rendering in the lesson (look at 'Markdown flavors'. 2 of those 3 links are in the links.md file.

got the necessary links (and a few unnecessary ones that caused the site not to build for a few commits) from the source lesson and added them to this repo.
