Can we trick Zola into templating on non-html content?

Using template variables in the CMS admin/config.yml would be very convinient, but afaik, Zola only runs Tera (the template engine) on HTML. Current solution is to make the config a HTML doc so the templating works, then explicitly set the config file to be admin/config.html -- Decap does complain on each page load about wrong mime type, but it can suck it up.

Would be nice if there was an actual way tho
