Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
The Steam Deck's TDP (Thermal Design Power) settings are not being preserved when the device enters and exits Standby Mode. Each time the user puts the Steam Deck into standby and then wakes it up, the manually set TDP value resets to the default configuration. This behavior requires the user to re-enter their desired TDP settings after every wake-up, leading to a frustrating user experience and disrupting gameplay.
Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen.
The TDP limit set by the user should be preserved and maintained when the device enters and exits Standby Mode. The system should retain the user's custom performance settings until they are manually changed.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Launch a game on the Steam Deck.
Access the Performance Overlay Menu (by pressing the "..." button).
Navigate to the TDP Limit setting.
Manually adjust the TDP value to a custom limit (e.g., lower it from the default 15W to 10W).
Verify that the new TDP limit is active by observing the CPU/GPU power draw in the performance overlay.
Press the Power button to put the device into Standby Mode.
Press the Power button again to wake the device from standby.
Check the TDP settings in the Performance Overlay Menu. The TDP value will have reverted to its default setting, and the custom limit is no longer active.
Hello @positiveoctopus, this issue is already being tracked at #2060. Closing as a duplicate.
There is a fix queued for this in the Beta Candidate SteamOS branch. It will be available in regular Beta sometime soon.
