False VAC Global Cooldown on SteamOS with Counter-Strike 2

Closed this issue · 8 comments

I just switched my operating system to SteamOS on my laptop and now in one week, I got two Global Cooldowns on my account.

Before this week, I've never had red trust factor or any cooldowns at all.

I've never cheated. I've had this account for 10 years with lots of inventory items and other games. I have 7000 hours on CS2. I'm also busy using this account to publish games and apps onto Steam.

So the only reason I can see why this might be happening is something on SteamOS by any chance? Is this possible?

The first cooldown was 20 hours. So that wasn't so bad. I figured it was just a false one or maybe many people reported me. So I waited. And then today I played one game and now I got a 7 day cooldown.

Here's a screenshot of the current 7 day cooldown: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3570435229

Can someone please look into the issue 🙏🏻

I'm willing to give and/or show any information that might help. I'm on latest SteamOS 3.8 Main Channel, and I'm playing in desktop mode. While playing, I have nothing open except Steam, CS2 and Mission Center (from KDE Discover). I also regularly play in Gaming Mode, but both of the Global Cooldowns happened while I was specifically playing in Desktop Mode.

And here's my fastfetch and kinfo:

Yes I know.

I think it might be SteamOS related. That's why I posted it here.

Since this has never happened before until I switched to SteamOS.

Hi @vMcJohn

Sorry for tagging you here. I just saw this Reddit post and figured I would shoot my shot and tag you here.

Do you think this could be something due to SteamOS? Or maybe just because I got too many people reporting me? Or something else?

I did send an email to Cs2team@valvesoftware.com as well.

Hey.

just a follow-up.

I played on my wife's account today, and the same happened again.

I got a 20-hour cooldown on her account.

And again. I didn't cheat. This was also played on the same computer with SteamOS installed.

Hi @vMcJohn

Any help would be much appreciated please.

My 7 day cooldown ended and I played one game last night that went fine.

But now this morning I played another and I got a 31 day Global Cooldown now on my main account.

Please 🙏🏻

I see here's aqua getting false VAC Live Global Cooldown as well: https://youtu.be/XWw3pjB-Tt4?si=S9IXaQYbRcr9DCXC

But he's bhopping the whole time. I don't bhop much at all. So this isn't what's causing it on mine. I don't even use the console ever really either.

It happened again. I'm now on a 181 days Global Cooldown.

Here's a video where I show it: https://youtu.be/4KeVdubGro4?si=5vtpAzg5us-ZReu1
