Reddit vibes: people can have discussion threads and accrue karma and subscribe to channels
Differences:
- Topic channels: user-defined channels based on tags
- Tags: posters and commenters can tag content (and support and oppose tags)
- Precise signals: users can vote -100 to +100 instead of just upvoting and downvoting (posts, comments, and tags) users can vote separately on: overall, title, thumbnail, video quality, audio quality, information value, and custom fields defined by the poster (or possibly suggested by the community)
- Posters can provide bounties for feedback (well, maybe you can do this on Reddit too? Also, maybe we should let this be external at first, so payment stuff is handled on mechanical Turk for example)
- Posters can guarantee that a user visits the post before interacting with it
- RedYellowGreen integration
- Eventual Discord and Slack integration??
- Deep user profiles w sociological data: this helps creators understand how individuals from specific backgrounds and groups feel about content, to empower group outreach and engagement. Able to get more points per interaction and higher bounties if this is filled out
