String attribute display value is not updated immediately after changing and then going in non-edit mode

Updating the string value in edit mode does not update the display value in non-edit mode (after save). Subsequently cycling through edit and non-edit will update the display value.

This is due to a bug in Polymer. Will need further looking into.
