At TPAC there was some consensus that folks would like more time to discuss this API through the WICG. Let's use this issue for scheduling and planning. I was planning on using the same basic technology to host the meeting (Google Meet), with a shared Google doc for queuing and note taking.

Possible time slots (in GMT) for a recurring / semi-recurring 30-60 minute meeting:

  • Monday: 3-3:30pm, 4-6pm, 8-9pm
  • Tuesday: 3-3:30pm, 6:30-7:30pm, 10:30-11pm
  • Thursday: 7:30-8:30pm

Unfortunately the list of interested people was not captured in the TPAC notes, so feel free to cc folks that you think would be interested. We can use this issue to align on a time slot, duration, etc.
@benjaminsavage, @kdeqc, @ajknox, @johnivdel, @michaelkleber, @johnwilander, @maudnals, @dialtone, @BasileLeparmentier, @bslassey, @erik-anderson

This is a good idea. I can generally free up any of the time slots listed above.

I am interested in general but I'm wondering if this API has multi implementer interest? If so, which? Knowing that feels like an important basis for discussion, i.e. are we discussing something that is on track to become a proposed standard or are we discussing a single browser/engine specification?

Thanks John. I don't think we have any public statements of interest yet from other browser vendors but as this proposal is still in incubation that should be fine (the WICG charter does not require multi-browser support). We're also still iterating through lots of new ideas in this space that are at early stages like the aggregate conversion measurement, which you seemed to express some interest in exploring (e.g. some Prio-like solution) at the privacy CG F2F (minutes).

Sure, I'm not saying you're in any bad state or shouldn't incubate. πŸ™‚ I just want to know what I'd be signing up for. I'd prefer it if we could isolate issues that are relevant for both Conversion Measurement API and Private Click Measurement. Would that be possible?

I don't want to limit the discussions in these meetings to just issues relevant to PCM, but I think we could certainly have meetings where that's the primary agenda topic.

I don't want to limit the discussions in these meetings to just issues relevant to PCM, but I think we could certainly have meetings where that's the primary agenda topic.

Sounds good. Please ping me for those meetings.

Monday 8-9pm GMT and Tuesday 6:30-7pm GMT would work best for me. Thanks!

Hi Charlie, thanks for highlighting this group in web-adv.
I'd be available at any of these times. Looking forward to participating!

I can do Monday 3-4 GMT, Tuesday 3:00-3:30, or Tuesday 10:30-11:00

Between @bedfordsean, @ajknox, and myself, we can make
Mon: 3-3:30pm and 4-6pm GMT (8-9pm GMT, 2/3 of us)
Tue: 3-3:30pm GMT

Thanks for organizing @csharrison!

Hi Charlie,

Thank you so much for organizing this.

We are available for all the proposed schedule before 6pm GMT, after it is not possible for us, based in Paris, it would be too late.

Thanks again,
Basile

I would be happy to participate in this conversation (though this isn't an explicit implementer interest/intent to implement from Mozilla). I can do all of the suggested timeslots though the Tuesday ones are slightly more inconvenient for me.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone. It looks like we can meet the most schedules on Monday from 4-5pm GMT. Given that next week is the week of American Thanksgiving, I propose we first meet on Nov 30, from 4-5pm GMT, although if there are strong objections let me know.

We can use this issue for agenda curation in the meantime.

Thanks @csharrison for organizing! To clarify, from Nov 30 onward, do you intend to week weekly, or every 2 weeks (or some other cadence)?

Great question. I think we can stick with every 2 weeks unless it seems like we have a lot of material to get through and folks want to meet more often.

I added a link to a Google Meet in the issue description, along with a Google doc with a tentative agenda (@johnwilander there may be some topics of interest to you).

Feel free to use this issue to suggest further agenda items.

Let's schedule the next meeting for Monday, Dec 14 at 4-5pm GMT. I'll create a new notes / agenda doc closer to the call and provide meeting details.

As always, feel free to use this issue to propose agenda items.

Awesome. Since we'll have talked about our new spec https://github.com/AdRoll/privacy/blob/main/SPURFOWL.md in the next w3c meeting I wonder if it would be possible to talk about that within this group.

@csharrison, can you update in this issue to include links to call in details, times, and where minutes are posted? I think this is most discoverable way for new people to join this topic

Updated the issue to provide the call-in details, links to past minutes, and an agenda doc for the next meeting.

Scheduling the next call for Jan 11, since I will be mostly out of office till that Monday. Enjoy the holidays everyone! πŸŽ‰

This coming Monday @johnivdel will present a new document we published on event-level VTC:
https://github.com/WICG/conversion-measurement-api/blob/main/event_attribution_reporting.md

If we have time we can also discuss a new proposal for cross device:
https://github.com/WICG/conversion-measurement-api/blob/main/cross_device.md

Just updated the call to clarify that we're now meeting at 3pm GMT, to accommodate the time zone changes that happened a while back. Let me know if this is an issue for anyone, though we have been at this schedule accidentally for the last couple meetings (my apologies)!

Hi Charlie,

Could I talk today (probably quickly) about the ML challenge that we are launching, described here #137 ?

Best,
Basile

Yep sounds good.

Given that the 31st is Memorial Day I propose we cancel next week's meeting. At least all the Google folks (including myself) have the day off.

Has the call been scheduled now? Interested to join (from LinkedIn).

Hey Om yes the next call is next Monday, June 14, 2021, from 3-4pm GMT

Thanks for the meeting today everyone! I wanted to encourage folks to use this issue or the Google Doc linked in the original post to gather agenda before meetings. I am also open for feedback on how we could organize the meetings better.

For next time we can spend a bit more time discussing debugging (incl. issue #160)

Hey folks! Our next scheduled meeting would be Sept 6 which is Labor day so many of us will not be working. I am also going to be out of office on Sept 20 so I think we should just try to schedule this sometime the week of Sept 6.

What do people think about rescheduling next meeting to Tueday, Sept 7 at 9am PT, right after the Web-Advertising W3C meeting? Feel free to propose more times if that one doesn't work.

Sept. 7th at 9am PT sounds good to me. Thanks!

OK thanks folks let's lock it in - Sept 7th, 9am PT is our next meeting. See you then!

I think it would be worthwhile to discuss the topic of this issue: privacycg/private-click-measurement#88 (comment)

In short, let’s discuss to what extent APIs encode β€œlast-touch attribution”.

Sounds good, I've added it to the agenda.

It would be great to get @johnwilander, @johnivdel, and @csharrison on the call where this is discussed. (Adding @csharrison because it would be great to consider this across PCM, Event-level Attribution, and Aggregate Attribution. Correct me if he's not the right person for the Aggregate API.)

@csharrison mentioned above he is out on 9/20 (selfishly, I am as well.)

@johnwilander, would you be able to join on either 9/20 or 10/4? We should prioritize for Apple's availability, to at least have coverage across the APIs being discussed.

@johnwilander, would you be able to join on either 9/20 or 10/4? We should prioritize for Apple's availability, to at least have coverage across the APIs being discussed.

Monday 9/20 8-9 am Pacific works for me.

Seems like Erik and Charlie are both out on 9/20. @johnwilander can you make 10/4 instead?

Monday 10/4 8-9 am Pacific works for me too.

I've moved the proposed topic into the 10/4 agenda. We will still hold the regular 9/20 meeting on the other agenda topics, thanks!

Call for agenda items (next Monday 10/4):
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the Meeting doc or by directly commenting here on this issue.

If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

Sending this out early since it's Thanksgiving week in the US and we only have one item on the agenda for next week.

There was some discussion in the meeting today about meetings during the holidays. I am available on our next scheduled meeting (Dec 13), but I (and I expect many other people) will be out on the next one (Dec 27).

I propose we meet on Dec 13, and hold our next meeting Jan 10. I don't think I can personally attend the Jan 10 one but I expect folks on the Chrome side can join. @johnivdel, are you available Jan 10 to chair?

Please thumbs up this comment if you're OK with this plan, or suggest an alternative if it doesn't work.

cc @bmayd

@johnivdel, are you available Jan 10 to chair?

Yes

Call for agenda items (next Monday 12/13):
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

It looks like the next call is Jan 10? What time are we doing for that day?

It looks like the next call is Jan 10? What time are we doing for that day?

The time is 8-9am PT, which is documented in the OP here. I just added it also to the notes doc.

Call for agenda items (next Monday 1/24):
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

Given we have no agenda for this weeks meeting, I propose cancelling the 1/24 meeting unless anyone is opposed.

(Sorry for the late reminder)

Call for agenda items (this Monday 2/7):
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on today's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

Given 2/21 is a US Holiday, and we do not have any agenda items, I propose cancelling the 2/21 meeting and holding the next meeting on 3/7 as expected.

Call for agenda items (next Monday 3/7):
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

Call for agenda items (Monday 3/21):
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

@johnivdel @maudnals is there a meeting tomorrow? I don't see anything on the agenda yet.

We have a few items on the agenda, so I think we should hold the meeting (although it may be brief).

We had an issue with permissions on the agenda doc which was just recently resolved. If anyone had attempted to add an agenda item, you should be able to do so now.

We currently have no agenda items slated for todays(4/18/2022) meeting. I propose we cancel this meeting and convene again on 05/02/2022

Call for agenda items (today, Monday 5/2):
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on today's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.
(Apologies for the late call to agenda items)

If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

Given there is no agenda topics for tomorrow, I elect that we cancel. I encourage folks to attend the PATCG call which will happen later this week though, where I requested that measurement be on the agenda:
https://github.com/patcg/meetings/tree/main/2022/05/17-telecon
patcg/meetings#51

Call for agenda items (Monday 5/30):
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

Given that today is a US holiday, I think we should reschedule this meeting. Sorry I totally missed this. I think we should find another time this week or next.

I don't think we have any major agenda items, but if anyone wants to discuss something let me know here and we can schedule a one-off.

Note that we are on for the meeting tomorrow (Monday 6/13). I added a few updates to the agenda but feel free to add items at bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes or here directly.

There are currently no agenda items for the 07/11 meeting, I propose we cancel and reconvene on Monday July 25th.

If there are any agenda items you may have had, please add them to bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes, or file as an issue.

Call for agenda items for Monday 7/25:
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

There were some formatting issues in the agenda document that have been addressed.

For the 8/8 meeting, I have also added an overview of revisions to the app to web explainer to the agenda (https://github.com/WICG/attribution-reporting-api/blob/main/app_to_web.md).

Call for agenda items for Monday 8/22:

Yes given there are is no agenda, let's cancel the August 22nd meeting, and reconvene on September 5th. Thanks!

Sounds good - though Sept 5th is Labor Day here in the US.

bmayd commented

Thanks for catching that! In that case, let's reschedule for September 19th. That is nearly a month from now. If we do have topics, we could consider holding a one off at some point before then, but we can cross that bridge if we get there.

bmayd commented

Reminder: we have a TPAC meeting tomorrow Sept 16 from 15:30 - 16:30 (Vancouver time)
https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/a15e7466-4854-407a-bcae-02898c1fc116

I am planning on spending some time discussing an overview of the API + status, but please propose agenda items here or in the minutes doc.

Oh also, due to the TPAC A/V set-up we are using Zoom, not Meet for this meeting. The zoom link is in the minutes doc and I will also post it here:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9321684963?pwd=ck1EeTg3aWFHMkx4Y3UwUDlaemJpQT09

Update: unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances (I lost my voice and can barely speak) I won't be able to present today, so I am cancelling the event. Slides are available here:
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1WBzQBpRvQnM1prn-sPw5E4XyELt3U012n9aTjZd5bBc/edit?usp=sharing

Call for agenda items for Monday 10/17:
If there are topics and issues you'd like to discuss on Monday's call, add an item to the agenda by listing it in the meeting doc (shortlink: bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes) or by directly commenting here on this issue.

We forgot to discuss today our meeting cadence over the holiday season. I think the only scheduled meeting that we should cancel is Dec 26. That is, our schedule will look like:

  • Nov 28
  • Dec 12
  • Jan 9

Does that sound good with everyone?

Looks like we don't have agenda topics for the meeting tomorrow. Does anyone have anything that they want to discuss? Otherwise we can cancel.

Hi,
I have one small issue - reported here.
Since it is a blocker to test Private Aggregation API with Aggregated Service I would really appreciate to discuss it on the meet or offline (whatever you prefer).

Thanks,
Michal

Hey @michal-kalisz I think that issue is more relevant to the Private Aggregation API than ARA, so I don't think this meeting venue is most appropriate. I'll follow-up on the issue you filed though.

bmayd commented

@csharrison Just confirming -- no meeting today, right?

@bmayd yep let's cancel.

Suggested agenda item for the next WICG meeting after the holidays:
Developer-facing updates:
Developers who are testing Attribution Reporting should consider adopting success and verbose debug reports. See the debug reports announcement and guide.

Welcome back from the holidays, everyone. For Monday's meeting we have the following agenda:

  • Maud: Developers who are testing Attribution Reporting should consider adopting success and verbose debug reports. See the debug reports announcement and guide.
  • Jon Guarino: Feedback: VAST Update Proposal for Chrome Privacy Sandbox Attribution Reporting API Support (Issue #653)
  • Charlie: Per-reporting-site privacy budgeting (issue 661)

Please add comments on the bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes if you have anything to add, or post it here.

For Mondays meeting, we have the following agenda:

  • [Charlie] Permission Policy after the OT #558

Please edit/add comments on the bit.ly/ara-meeting-notes if you have anything to add, or post it here.

Given that many of us are going to be travelling for the PATCG face to face next week, I propose we cancel next week's meeting. We don't have too much on the agenda right now - I hope to have an update on the permission system soon.

bmayd commented

Agree it makes sense to skip the 2/6 meeting.

2/20 is a US holiday so let's cancel this one too.

@alois-bissuel are you able to attend the meeting tomorrow? If so, here is the tentative agenda I'm thinking of:

@csharrison Not sure if I can make it. We have an internal event, which I am not sure I can go without.
Regarding #693, we are working internally on the use case and the solution. Overall it might be more a Privacy Sandbox topic than a pure ARA one. So I have not much to share here, sorry for this.
P.S Sorry for sending this so late, I had forgotten to click on comment...
