Investigate distributed backend

The current backend (for xapers) is xapian, which does not seem to do a distributed setup. Need something that can handle merging of updates (even if manual), which might be rather specific though.

Quick comments, xapian-compact seems to support "merging" databases. We'd still have to manually copy files from within the directory.
