Surface values in 3D

Dear EPOCH experts,

I am currently using EPOCH3D version 4.19.0. In the output data, for each derived variable, it automatically includes several different surface values. For instance, I only requested the derived number density in the input deck, but it comes with "Surface_Values_boundary_Derived_Number_Density," "Surface_Values_boundary_x_max_Derived_Number_Density," etc. What do these "Surface_values" represent? Is there any way I could omit them or turn them off, as they make the size of the SDF much larger than desirable? I couldn't find it anywhere on the documents and the manual.
