laser profile vanishes

Hi EPOCH users,
I have recently noticed that when I define density profile externally with binary format and turn on ionisation as soon as laser starts interacting with a target , it disappears. First, I was thinking it might be a server or parallelization issue however I tried it in many different platforms. Simulations are fine if I define uniform target inside the input.deck and turn on ionisation, problem appears when I run the simulations with defined density profile with binary file.
Anyone else has any idea?
Thanks

Hi ozgurculfa,
Hope developers will look at that issue with external file inputs but i have the following unrelated question about ionization you were also mentioning. You are probably the first person here who managed to succeed with ionization as opposed to complaining about it :) . I tried runs with ionization but not a single case actually ended with no problems. Can you please post any simple working input deck showing how ionization works in your case with regular uniform target ?

What sort of issues are you having? Now I started questioning my work. I was not doing any detailed analysis, I just used one of sample inputs here for ionization.

Here is the discussion about it

Hey @ozgurculfa,

Can you provide the broken version of your input deck? Also, as you are using external binary files for loading the simulation, can you describe how these are generated and what they are supposed to show? I suspect the binary files themselves will be too large to attach.

I'm aware some users have been struggling with the ionisation documentation, but I haven't yet seen convincing evidence that the ionisation routines themselves aren't working. I've been meaning to provide simple demos for these to match the others, but I've been running around conferences these past few months and haven't found the time.

Cheers,
Stuart
