There could be implemented assert VI, which will give more detailed information about fields that do not match the expected value (or at least the first of those).

Would love to see this but it will end up with a very complex case. I've often wondered if changing to JSON first might make it easier?

100% possible but was intending to make a vim based library to handle this instead. Never got that far though!
