Double tap on a message to reply? or to edit a sent message?

Michal Szczepaniak has made an interesting feature of "double tap to reply" in Yottagram.
Thats user friendly (overall faster than the pulley).
As replying to messages is a regular thing to do in Telegram, I wondered if that option would fit in Fernschreiber too.
Double tap to "edit" a sent message could be also an option to consider.
Overall using the double tap for some quick interaction.

Interesting idea, but as it's not following the standard UX in Sailfish OS that would certainly not become default. Moreover, I'm a big fan of following the standard UX as closely as possible and only deviate where there is no other way out. The pulley-context menu is standard and I would rather keep it as only way to operate with messages. But if somebody wants to contribute an optional and configurable double-tap operation, that would be OK for me.

Okay!
Thank you for the detailed answer!
Yes overall following Standart UX seems perfectly logical and intuitive.
It somehow also evolved a bit with 3.4 (as in the email app pulleys "reply, delete, forward" are now partly replaced) but these changes are also controversial...

Double tap to reply would have to be hardly considered. It's a great feature to improve usability as I have tested in Yottagram indeed.
