Feature request: add paste for pasting in and preserving spacing

Description
set paste has no effect on putting (tabs and spaces are not preserved).
Expected behaviour
set paste should make putting preserve indentation, I believe.
Environments
Xcode Version [10.1+ ]
XVim branch and revision [XVim2 revision : 5c7aaa56e2d39ed2dd9ad42b7f14e4c91ee59218

Never mind! I assumed it was XVim but it was my system. Option + Shift + Command + V pasted and preserved whitespace.

Well, actually, this functionality would be nice with Vim's registers, which I haven't gotten to put and preserve tabs and spaces.
