Thumbnail options have little/no effect, Playlist controls obscured, ...

I have options to customise what shows up on thumbnails, such as a rating bar and text, but those don't come up anywhere on YouTube now.
Also, there's other issues such as playlist controls being obscured by the player when you have the player set to 80% or whatever. it appears that it may have worked at some point, but it doesn't now.
