Define scope of project

Closed this issue · 7 comments

This seems to be the most basic of questions: What is this?

We need to define a basic outline of what our project will "be". What major features will it have, and what is the justification for having them?

The final goal of this project is a website.
It will contain content that is applicable to all "techie" and design audiences. But the content will have a focus on beginners, and young people, new people in the industry.

###Major features will include:
-Articles/Blog (maybe interviews with more experienced dev/designers)
-Tutorials/Education (possibly code reviews/explanations of best practices)
-Forum/Chat of some kind. For creating a solid community.
-Mentorship A way to find mentors, and mentor others

Will all major features be required for MVP? In other words, is everything essential or would you rather have a staged rollout of features?

lets do forum/chat and mentors later.. others can be part of the " blog "

So MVP will be Blog, articles, tutorials (all pretty much different versions of a blog post).
Easy stuff.

And then from there will we add mentors, and forum/chat.

MVP for forum/chat feature could simply be Slack channel. Designer News does that unofficially with DesignerChat

This seems like a pretty good summary and the general consensus from the chat. For the sake of momentum I'm going to close this.

We can open up new issues for major features discussion in the future.
