Using this plugin with Github Pages

Thank you for your work! I came across jekyll-crosspost-to-medium and I wanted to use it on my jekyll blog which started off as a fork of the type-on-strap template and is hosted on Github Pages.
I was wondering if you had any ideas or thoughts on how I would go about "privately" configuring sensitive information into the "actions" workflow tab that shows up on github or any such place where one should go to take care of such things ... I'm a bit oblivious on this as of right now.
