It's against their term of service, for sure, but what about legally? You're bypassing one of their paid features.

I'm not a lawyer and this might depend on your jurisdiction, but I think if anything it could be a copyright issue, because it's changing the intended behavior of proprietary software. Then again, it's really just overriding some symbols that Spotify loads, without actually modifying Spotify's code. Functionally it's pretty much identical to using a personal firewall though, which is definitely legal.
