added a pull request for new cask: Homebrew/homebrew-cask#30208
After the cask was accepted, it should be documented how to install using brew cask install
My request to add the cask again was rejected: Homebrew/homebrew-cask#30208; I read it like: Erbele is too obscure because it has "only" two stars on github. So, add stars, stars, stars ;-)
I will do without homebrew cask, because it's too time consuming to support a software distribution platform like this. In my opinion, homebrew is not a considerable platform on the Mac. I assume most Mac users even don't know it (like me, until I heard from it a few weeks ago, and I'm a Mac enthusiast!). And it's no platform that would help to make Erbele more popular.
Common to distribute software on the Mac are the Mac App Store (for free and commercial software), individual product sites (mostly for commercial software), and also github (for Open Source Software).
It also has to do with security: the Mac App Store is managed by Apple and is known as a very secure distribution platform. On github, the users have to trust (or trust not) the github user itself; same for product websites. Without tackling with the security concerns of homebrew I wouldn't trust it.
With this in mind I only want to support the most common distribution platforms. Homebrew is not such a platform. The Mac App Store and github are such platforms.
Also related to #1: I've implemented automatic updates. So you will have the problem to manually download from github only once.
