ACM has a good deal of hardware that both SIGs and members use. It would be nice if we had a master list of serial numbers and a quick way to check out and see what is available. Would allow us to track the usage of ACM's assets better.

Calling this "checkout service" since i think it would be good to inventory both the books ACM has + hardware
Need to do some testing with handling both types + json respones + api gateway
Any thoughts on additional types of materials?
Books and Hardware, anything else we want to track using this system?
perhaps adapters and cables that sigs use
Dont you think that can fall under hardware though?

This should be a priority on the roadmap (perhaps forking merch as a starting point)
