Oh is this basically instead of guix? For guile noobs like me, maybe worth saying that in the readme if so?

Exactly. This is a completely separate project and not related to Guix at all. The only common thing is that you can get a bunch of Guile software installed on your mac without having to worry about much.

Updated README mentioning this Homebrew tap is an easy way to get started with Guile on macOS, since Guix is not supported.
