It doesn't work in gmail

I want srtyle my gmail

When I click markdown here it doesn't style my letter to markdown

I espected this by sending email with gmail

You have to highlight the region you wish to convert and then hit the button in your plugin bar or select Toggle Markdown from hitting the menu button on your keyboard whilst the regions is highlighted.
