You can move nodes outside the container dimensions but the connections are contained so they appear broken. Need to review more of how the Pan and zoom container works as based on @toby's work and I am not sure on all the facets still

long term plan is to remove pixi.js as there are some performance issues with all the canvas . so sizing would match
