Xiaomi MiBox S not turning off

I have a xiaomi mi box s running android 9. I tried setting all the display methods under settings but they don't work. After screensaver starts kodi mutes itself but it doesn't turn off the tv. CEC is otherwise working (if i press the power button on mibox remote, it turns off the device and the tv).
