Waveform plot scaling issue

Description of the problem
During large-scale preprocessing runs using SeisFlows, occasionally a Pyatoa waveform plot will have a poorly scaled y-axis, where the all waveforms appear as straight lines. The issue seems to occur at random and happens in something like 1 in 100 waveform plots.
This issue has been around since early on and has been sparse enough that I've ignored it, but it should be hunted down and fixed. Putting this issue here as a reminder to myself to fix this.
