Like ExpressVPN, Mullvad is another VPN provider with an Onion service (displayed in the footer): http://xcln5hkbriyklr6n.onion/
how many people use this?
I wouldn’t know any numbers but they’re recommended by PrivacyTools.io (note, I’m associated to this project) and ThatOnePrivacySite.
Mullvad is a rather popular VPN provider. For a sense of size, they have 645 servers. They don't advertise on YouTube like Nord or anything, but they're legitimately pretty good. (One of?) The owner went to the Stockholm Tor meeting and had lots of intelligent ideas and things to say about Internet security.

how many people use this?
According to the website, Mullvad has 555,541 unique numbered accounts. The number of humans using the service is less than that, since anyone can create multiple accounts. How much less is anyone’s guess.
Mullvad currently uses 778 servers.
