Plotting section completly black

When I launch plot, I only get a sidebar that allows me to enter in values, but the graphing portion is completely black this happens for both dark and light mode. I am launching it from zsh on xterm. I am on Arch Linux with the i3-window manager if any of that helps (I installed from AUR).
