Feature Request: Zoom (Or other) Links

Opened this issue · 5 comments

Hey. I love easyappointments since I started using it

Its only missing two bigger features in my opinion.
One of them is being able to add links to a providers profile and it being added as the location automatically.

I hope this can make it into version 1.5.0

Thanks!

Unfortunately I do not remember the link (somewhere in the internet) but some third party integrated jitsi into E!A

Hello!

Having profile links for providers is a good idea.

I will keep this as a future enhancement for the app.

One of them is being able to add links to a providers profile and it being added as the location automatically.

I think that the meeting or video conferencing URL should be in a different field.

I was thinking of modifying my installation to use the Location field for the link, but that would mean that I would need to hide it on the booking pages, and then make it visible on the emails. You usually don't want to reveal the video conference URL before they book.

Instead of doing that, it would be better if the URL has its own field that is only visible to people after they book.

I am not sure if you are already working on this or already have a plan of action, but I wanted to suggest a relatively easy way to implement this that still allows you or others to extend it.

If you create an Appointment Summary page as described in #1522 and added a field for the online meeting URL, this would allow providers to manually or automatically add meeting URLs after the meeting is booked.

When the appointment comes around, the client goes to the Appointment Summary page, where it has the link to Zoom or whatever video conferencing software is being used for the meeting.

If the video conferencing URL never changes for a Service, then it could be automatically added. If the URL needs to be generated manually by the provider (for example, each meeting has a unique URL), then it can be added manually by the provider.

And if someone wanted to interface directly with Zoom, Big Blue Button, or some other video conferencing app, they could use the API to fill in the URL field. (This may be necessary when the app provides unique URLs for every meeting or they want manage appointments in another app.)

An implementation like this would provide maximum flexibility on how the video conferencing URL is generated for each meeting.

There are no updates on this item for now.

Currently the main focus is on completing v1.5, which already has a feature freeze.
