Feature Request for "Dispatch Key Combo"

beastyrabbit opened this issue · 5 comments

Dear Vitor,
i would like to request a feature.

I got an Issue that I'm not able to move PW into Citrix Login Screen.
I would like to have an option to have Alfred use "Dispatch Key Combo" to type the PW out.

I tried to find what i have to do but I'm not able to find the position where i have to change the Workflow.
Would you be able to add this Option?

Regards
Tobias

Hello,

Thank you for the request but a dispatch key combo isn’t really geared for large amounts of random text. Furthermore, telling macOS to type keys via AppleScript is quite error prone, especially with uppercase and special characters, which would really not work well for passwords.

I'm not able to move PW into Citrix Login Screen.

I don’t understand the issue, though. Can’t you copy the password (↩︎ by default, but can be changed in the Workflow’s Configuration) and then paste it?

Hello,

i can show you the Issue i got. I already talked to 1P Support but they blame Citrix :D

In this Video i'm trying to use autofill and drag&drop.

If I'm logined into Citrix-Windows copy&paste is working fine.
But on the Log-Screen Copy&Paste isnot allowed.
For this i was hoping to use dispatch key combo for this.
But when you say that this is not an option then we can close this :)

Indeed Citrix would make sense as the first culprit to think about. But then it also occurred to me “wait, maybe the fault is with Windows”. Seems that might be the case.

Here is a quick workflow to type the text in your clipboard. You can activate it with a Hotkey or Keyword. But remember: it’s likely it won‘t work if your password has diacritics or other “weird” characters.

Hi it is a rough Implementation but it is working great .. so far 😀

Just added another Key and the Script you provided 😁 THANK YOU so much 🤭

Oh, I meant that you could use the given workflow as is. You’d copy the password and then invoke the new workflow to type it out.

It’s fine to do your own modifications to your local copy of the 1Password workflow, but just keep in mind that those will be overwritten on updates. You can double-click the workflow’s name in the Alfred Preferences and change the Bundle Id to break the link and not update it anymore.
