[feature request] Add features from eagle.cool

  • Browser Plugins
  • Audio and Video support
  • Read and make use of eagle.cool tagging and metadata

This is a really great app and it would be amazing if it could complement or become the nix alternative to eagle.cool while still having metadata compatibility.

That way I could manage my assets via a network share between those. Also many inspirations could be taken from eagle.cool

Hello, they do indeed have some neat features we'll be able to get "inspired" by ;)
Thanks for bringing it up! We only found out about it a short while before this issue was created

  • We do already have a bare-bones browser plugin (Chrome only for now)
  • Audio and video support isn't really part of our vision for Allusion though, and it would complicate things quite a bit
  • Direct integration with proprietary file formats isn't really the way it's supposed to go, it would be better if external tools can save or export their data to an open format

Oh ..
I was going to ask if videos and audios could be supported as well as importing the .eaglepack format from Eagle.cool ... which is actually just a renamed archive zip file containing the medias and a json file.
Too bad.

I'm a game designer and i'm using Eagle because of the two mentionned medias support to build reference for all field : my artists are using pureref while animators need videos, sound designer, well, sounds (and videos) and I would gladly ditch Eagle in favour of Allusion if those formats where supported.
And to smooth the transition, well, .eaglepack import would be a big plus as well XD

And sorry to comment an issue closed two years ago XD
