Benchmarks for Rope performance

It would be nice to have some performance benchmarks for Ropes - both so that we can brag about their performance benefits, and so that we can ensure that changes later on don't cause performance regressions. We will probably want write the same benchmarks for String so that we can compare Rope and String performance.
