how does the speaker node work?

how is the speaker node supposed to be used in the google home app? currently it only visualizes as a speaker in the app but doesn't allow me to change volume or power on/off. is there no interaction possible?

ok, it works over voice control in the app but doesn't offer the manual option in the UI like a chromecast device.
