Feature request - X56 ?

Hello and thanks for this useful tool.
Just asking: is there any chance to see a version of this tool also for Logitech X56 H.O.T.A.S. ? It would be great :)

Anyway thanks !

Sergio

Hi!

The main difficulty would be that I don't have an X56 so there's no way of me testing it while developing; it would be very painful for me to be developing and releasing, with someone else testing and giving feedback.

Also, from what I can see there's just a single colour for the whole X56 joystick, yes? What behaviour would you be looking for?

So, if anyone out there with an X56 wants to develop and test, I'm very happy to help them extend the code.

Hi Andrew and thanks for the answer.
I'm not a proficient programmer, and that is why I appeal to those in the community with greater capabilities than mine. (my area of work is system administration *nix and openstack)

I can give you some more information about X56:

  1. it has full RGB (not aRGB i guess) capabilities both on stick and throttle
  2. the Logitech (once Saitek) software sets colors for whole HOTAS as you said, but
  3. spreedated here on github wrote a x56 led wrapper based on directoutput.dll (https://github.com/spreedated/direct-output-x56-led-wrapper): i tested it on my X56 and it works setting colors indipendently (throttle and stick)
    edit
  4. your work on X52 Pro is very interesting (like what other have done with / thru Razer Synapse [please check elitechroma if you have time) and i was hoping to obtain something similar with X56 (different colors depending on what happens in the game)

I understand very well your point of view about the difficulties to develop and test a software without having a X56 to work with (and unfortunately I don't have the possibility to send you a new X56 to play with :))
Thanks for your kind reply!

;)

Sergio
