How to deactivate manually the alarm

Sometime I work in my garage. In this case, I let the garage door open. What would be the easiest way to deactivate the alarms (mail,openhab, sms, etc...) for let's say one hour ?
I could run an external script which could change the status of a GPIO. This GPIO status could be tested before sending the alarm.
Any other tip?
